Section 2
Acceptance of Terms
By bringing a timepiece to our workshop, making an enquiry, or engaging Chronovault for any service, you acknowledge that you have read these terms and agree to be bound by them.
We ask that users be of at least 18 years of age, or act with the consent and supervision of a parent or legal guardian. You confirm that you have the authority and capacity to enter into the service arrangement described here.
If you are acting on behalf of another party — such as submitting a timepiece owned by a family member or employer — you confirm that you hold appropriate authority to do so.
Section 3
Service Description
Chronovault provides watch repair, servicing, exterior refinishing, and archive-grade restoration from our Bangkok workshop. Our principal services are:
- —Standard Bench Service — movement cleaning, lubrication, timing regulation, gasket review, and function check.
- —Exterior Restoration — case and bracelet refinishing, crystal renewal, seal replacement, and a water resistance assessment.
- —Archive-Grade Overhaul — full disassembly, component sourcing, dial care, reassembly to tolerance, and a photographic record.
All services are carried out from our Silom Road premises in Bangkok. We do not offer postal or courier-based reception of timepieces at this time.
Service timelines are estimated at the point of assessment and may vary depending on the condition of the piece, component availability, and current workshop volume.
Section 4
User Responsibilities
When engaging Chronovault, you agree to the following conduct and responsibilities:
- ·Provide accurate information about the timepiece, including its known history, any prior repairs, and any known faults.
- ·Collect the timepiece within a reasonable period following notification that the work is complete. Storage beyond 60 days may be subject to a holding fee.
- ·Not submit a timepiece that is the subject of a legal dispute or whose ownership is contested without prior disclosure.
- ·Use our website and contact channels for their intended purpose and refrain from submitting false enquiries.
- ·Treat our staff and premises with consideration and respect.
Section 5
Intellectual Property
All content on the Chronovault website — including text, layout, photography, and documentation — is the property of Chronovault or is used with appropriate permission. You may not reproduce or redistribute it without our written agreement.
Photographic records produced during an Archive-Grade Overhaul are provided to the customer as part of the service and may be retained for personal reference. Commercial use of such images requires prior written consent.
Our name and workshop identity are not to be used in any way that might suggest endorsement, affiliation, or partnership without our prior agreement.
Section 6
Payment Terms
All service prices are quoted in Thai Baht (฿). A formal quotation is provided following initial assessment, and work proceeds only upon your written or verbal acceptance of that quotation.
Payment is due upon collection of the timepiece unless an alternative arrangement has been agreed in writing. We accept cash and major bank transfer methods. Specific payment options will be confirmed at the time of quotation.
If the scope of work changes during servicing — for example, due to an unexpected internal condition — we will inform you and seek your agreement before proceeding with any additional work.
In the event that a timepiece is left uncollected for more than 90 days following notification of completion, Chronovault reserves the right to apply a storage arrangement as outlined in our separate collection policy, details of which are available on request.
Section 7
Service-Specific Terms
Assessment Period
Each timepiece undergoes an initial assessment before a quotation is issued. This assessment is provided without charge unless the work is declined after disassembly has begun for diagnostic purposes, in which case a reasonable assessment fee may apply.
Scope and Changes
The quoted scope of work is documented and agreed before commencement. If, during servicing, additional issues are identified that fall outside the agreed scope, we will pause and contact you before proceeding. No additional work is carried out without your approval.
Component Sourcing
Where original components are unavailable, we will advise you on suitable alternatives before they are sourced. We do not substitute parts without your awareness.
Post-Service Care
Following collection, we are available to answer questions relating to the completed work. We ask that any concerns be raised promptly and in good faith so that we can address them directly.
Section 8
Disclaimers
Chronovault aims to carry out all work with care and skill. However, older or heavily worn timepieces may present risks during servicing that are not apparent before work begins — including component fatigue or pre-existing internal damage. We will advise you of any such risks identified during assessment.
Our website content is provided for general information and does not constitute a binding service commitment until a formal quotation has been issued and accepted.
We are not able to offer assurances regarding the long-term performance of a timepiece after servicing, as this depends on factors including how the piece is worn, stored, and maintained.
Section 9
Limitation of Liability
In the event of a dispute or claim arising from our services, our liability is limited to the value of the service performed or, where applicable, the assessed fair market value of the timepiece at the time it was received — whichever is the lower figure.
We are not responsible for indirect or consequential losses, including sentimental value, loss of use, or any consequential financial impact arising from a timepiece being unavailable during the servicing period.
Where events outside our reasonable control — such as supply disruption, utilities outage, or other unforeseen circumstances — affect our ability to complete work within the estimated period, we will communicate the situation promptly and without penalty.
Section 10
Indemnification
You agree to hold Chronovault, its staff, and associates harmless from any claim, loss, or expense arising from inaccurate information provided at the time of submission, unauthorised submission of a timepiece belonging to another party, or use of our services in a manner inconsistent with these terms.
Section 11
Termination
You may withdraw a timepiece from our workshop at any point prior to the commencement of agreed work, subject to any applicable assessment fee as described in Section 7.
Once work has commenced under an agreed quotation, withdrawal is subject to payment for any work already completed and reasonable costs incurred in sourcing components.
Chronovault reserves the right to decline or discontinue a service arrangement where a user has acted in a manner inconsistent with these terms, or where accepting the work would be inappropriate for any operational reason.
Section 12
Dispute Resolution
These terms are governed by the laws of Thailand. Any dispute arising from our services will first be addressed through direct communication between the parties. We ask that concerns be raised with us in writing in the first instance, allowing a reasonable period for us to respond.
If a matter cannot be resolved informally, both parties agree to explore mediation before pursuing formal proceedings. The courts of Bangkok, Thailand hold jurisdiction over any matter that proceeds to formal resolution.
Thai consumer protection provisions applicable to service businesses remain unaffected by these terms.
Section 13
General Provisions
- Entire Agreement: These terms, together with any written quotation issued by Chronovault, constitute the full understanding between the parties regarding the services in question.
- Severability: If any provision of these terms is found to be unenforceable, the remaining provisions continue in full effect.
- Waiver: Our decision not to enforce a provision on a particular occasion does not constitute a waiver of that provision in future.
- Assignment: You may not transfer your rights under a service arrangement to another party without our prior written agreement.
- Notices: Written communications may be sent to [email protected] or to our workshop address.
Section 14
Changes to Terms
We may update these terms from time to time as our services develop or to reflect changes in applicable law. The revised version will be published on this page with an updated date at the top of the document.
We encourage you to review these terms periodically. Continued use of our services or submission of a timepiece after any revision constitutes acceptance of the updated terms.
