What Makes a Difference
in Watch Repair
The work itself is what matters most. Here is a clear account of how Chronovault approaches each piece — and why that approach makes sense for your watch.

Six Points That Define Our Work
These are the things that shape every job we take on, from a routine service to a full overhaul.
Experienced Watchmakers
The people working on your watch have years of hands-on experience with a range of movements — not technicians following a checklist.
Written Condition Records
Every piece is logged on arrival. You receive a written note of what was found, what was done, and what the watch's condition was before and after.
No Surprises on Cost
Prices are stated before any work begins. If additional work becomes apparent during assessment, we ask before proceeding.
Correct Parts, Not Substitutes
Where replacement components are required, we source period-appropriate or manufacturer-equivalent parts rather than using whatever is available.
Photographic Documentation
Archive-grade overhauls include staged photographs taken through disassembly and reassembly, returned with the watch as a permanent record.
A Physical Bangkok Workshop
You can visit, drop off in person, and speak with the person handling your watch. We are at 305 Silom Road — not a drop-off point for a distant facility.
In Depth
Each Benefit, Explained
Professional Expertise
Watchmaking is a practical skill developed over years at a bench, not a qualification you earn from a course and then put on a shelf. Our watchmakers have worked on a wide range of Swiss and Japanese mechanical movements — from basic lever escapements to more complex calendar and chronograph calibres.
- Mechanical and automatic movements
- Swiss and Japanese calibres
- Vintage and post-war timepieces
- Complex complications handled with care
Process and Documentation
Each watch follows a clear intake process: it is logged, assessed, and its condition noted before any tool is picked up. This record travels with the piece and forms the basis of everything we communicate to you. For archive-grade work, a photographic file is assembled at each stage — not as a formality, but as a genuine reference for the watch's history.
- Written intake condition record
- Photographic staging for overhauls
- Timing machine log before and after service
Clear Communication
We do not assume you want us to proceed with work you were not expecting. If the assessment reveals something additional, we contact you first. If you decide not to go ahead, the watch is returned with the assessment note and nothing is charged beyond the initial intake review. Walk-ins are welcome during workshop hours, and you can speak directly with the person working on your piece.
Value and Pricing
Our three service levels — bench service at ฿4,000, exterior restoration at ฿15,600, and archive-grade overhaul at ฿31,500 — are priced to reflect the scope of work involved, not a brand premium. The pricing is fixed for the described scope; additional work is only carried out at your direction and at a separately agreed cost.
Results That Hold
A bench service done properly — with the right lubricants, correct torque on every component, and timing regulated across multiple positions — should keep a watch running well for several years. We take that seriously. A watch that leaves the workshop should need minimal attention for a reasonable period, and we want the record to show that.

What Sets Us Apart · CV-USP01
Things Not Commonly Offered
The Photographic Archive
For archive-grade overhauls, the staged photographic record we produce is not a marketing image — it is a working document. It shows the movement at each stage of disassembly, condition of components before replacement, and the reassembled calibre before casing. Owners leave with this file.
An Unhurried Assessment Period
Particularly for complex or inherited pieces, we allow time for a proper assessment before committing to a scope of work. You are not pressured into a decision. The assessment period is part of how we handle valued watches.
No Franchise, No Intermediary
Chronovault is an independent workshop. There is no head office policy shaping how we take on work, no intermediary handling enquiries. You deal directly with the people doing the work, which means conversations are shorter and more honest.
Bangkok-Based, Not a Collection Point
The work happens on Silom Road. Your watch does not travel to another country for service. If you want to visit mid-job or ask a question about what was found, you can do so in person. That is not something most services offer.
