A Workshop Built Around the Work Itself
Chronovault is a dedicated watch repair and restoration workshop on Silom Road, Bangkok. We exist to serve mechanical timepieces — carefully, honestly, and without haste.

How Chronovault Came to Be
Chronovault opened its doors on Silom Road out of a straightforward observation: Bangkok had no shortage of watch shops, but very few places where a person could bring an inherited or long-held mechanical watch and expect it to be treated with real care.
The workshop was put together by a small group of watchmakers who had each spent years at repair benches across Thailand and abroad. The name Chronovault was chosen deliberately — a vault being a place of safekeeping, and chrono referring to time itself. The two ideas together describe the purpose of the work: to hold a piece of time safely, and return it in better condition than it arrived.
From the beginning, the workshop has operated without a rush. Watches arrive, are logged, assessed at the proper pace, and returned with a written record of what was found and what was done. That has not changed since the workshop first opened.
The services we offer reflect what we are capable of: a standard service for everyday mechanical watches, an exterior restoration for pieces being readied for daily use or handover, and an archive-grade overhaul for valued or inherited timepieces that deserve thorough attention and documentation.

How We Approach Quality
Several points that shape how the work is done, not just what the work is.
Condition Record on Arrival
Every watch is logged on intake with a written note of its condition. The record stays with the piece and is shared with the owner before any work begins.
Photographic Documentation
For archive-grade overhauls, staged photographs are taken at each phase of disassembly and reassembly. Owners receive this record with the returned piece.
Period-Appropriate Parts
When replacement components are needed, we source manufacturer-equivalent or period-correct parts rather than substituting whatever is readily available.
Timing Verification
Each serviced movement is regulated on a timing machine before reassembly and again after casing. Results are noted in the service record.
Secure Storage
The workshop is an access-controlled space. Watches awaiting service or collection are kept in a dedicated secure area separate from the working bench.
No Work Without Agreement
If an assessment reveals additional needs beyond the original scope, we contact the owner before proceeding. The piece is returned in its assessed state if the owner prefers.
About Our Work
Mechanical watches hold a particular place among objects that people keep. They are not just tools for reading the time; they carry associations — with the person who first wore them, with the occasion they were acquired for, or simply with the craft that went into making them. A well-made movement, properly maintained, can run for decades.
At Chronovault, our work is shaped by an understanding of this. The bench services we carry out are thorough rather than hurried: cleaning, lubrication, and timing regulation are done with attention to each movement's specific characteristics, not to a standard template. The exterior restoration service is equally considered — refinishing is done with measured care to preserve the original geometry of the case and bracelet rather than regrinding everything to a uniform polish.
The archive-grade overhaul is the most involved service we offer, and the one we take most seriously. It is designed for timepieces that are valued — family pieces, watches that have been out of service for years, or those where the owner wants a full account of what was done. The photographic record that accompanies this service gives the owner a permanent reference for the watch's condition at each stage of the work.
Bangkok is home to a wide range of watch owners: collectors, people who have inherited pieces, and those who simply want to keep a familiar watch running well. Chronovault is here for all of them, working from a straightforward premise — that a watch brought in for attention deserves to be treated with the same care that went into making it.
